This concept was so well explained that I’m adding it to my bibliography for my fall courses. SEO and AI Search professionals really need to know this information.

I hope you are okay with my citing.

Very well explained. Thank you and kudos.

I am planning on eye-tracking and click/tap tests on AI search results pages. One thing I’ve noticed that is plainly obvious to me are the (cited) sources of information. From an accessibility standpoint, the sources’ icons are far too small.

Personally, I think they are far too small even for people who do not have accessibility issues. I might test that, too: same eye-tracking and click-tap tests with different groups of test participants.

For an advanced searcher like me, those sources of information are quite important. Imagine if a patient or caregiver needs help immediately, as an example.

I am very interested in what those test results will show.

And finally, respectfully, I believe your moderation is more than fair.

"Personally, I think they are far too small even for people who do not have accessibility issues." - if i had to guess, I'd say this is by design. They need to have the citations present, but 100% do not want you leaving their interface for anything else. If they can encourage that behavior, they train users to depend on them, increasing visits, duration and so on. It's ye olde gamification of the human mind, via a new, deliciously addictive interface.
