I couldn't agree more about the importance of adoption and governance with llms.txt.
That being said, from a would've/could've/should've perspective, we haven't seen any harm in build said manifesto, provided the document is simplified, void of promotional language, and aligned with our knowledge graph efforts.
If they use it eventually, great! If not, we lost 15 minutes and didn't create anything that feels even remotely spammy.
Generally, I tend to agree Steve. But then, I’m not a spammer. And from the POV of a Google, Bing, OpenAI, etc, they can’t really afford to simply trust. We’ve all seen the results of abuse in the past, and while I trust you, me and many others not to abuse, the platforms face millions of instances where people do attempt to take advantage. And that’s the core thing that holds concepts like this back. Regardless, though, I’m in your headspace. Not a lot of time from me, maybe some advantage, even later? Worth exploring, imo. But I’m also aware it may have no net impact.
